Alexa Meyerman

Alexa Meyerman (1967) lives and works in Maastricht.

She converts existing buildings and interieurs, into views in which the perspective alters according to the viewpoint of the beholder.
This transformation implies the destruction of the architectural reality.
Very ordinary windows, doors and floors become no more than image elements in a deconstructed, artificial space.
These altered rooms exude a sense of mystery.
Anything could happen here, but nothing does, besides the soundless, enigmatic shifting of perspective in a bare, constantly changing, three-dimensional yet immaterial and undefined volume…

Exhibitions: New York, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Geneva, Aachen, Breda, Rotterdam, Maastricht and Salzburg.
